Wow, I’ve been MIA from this little blog for a while!
In a nutshell, here’s what I’ve been up to. Got a soul-sucking full-time job that occupied way too much of my time, got let go from said job, and now I’m back to trying to build my fiber arts business and do something that makes me happy! I’ve been doing a lot of fiber-based jewelry, because let’s face it, I live in Florida and we just don’t get a lot of wear out of woolies here!
Here’s is a sample of some of my recent work. I just did a big update of my Etsy shop, JHAFiberArts. Click on the pic and have a look!

I’ve been fascinated by this Etsy seller’s gradient embroidery hoop art lately.  Just lovely abstractness!

This shawl is the result of collaboration.  I am a member of the Jacksonville Weavers Guild, which was invited to submit a piece for Artscapade, an event that raises funds to provide cardiac surgery for children from impoverished nations.  Inspired by images of heart muscle, I spun a coiled thick and thin art yarn that a fellow guild member, Linda Schultz, incorporated into this magnificent piece entitled “Myocardial Wrap”.

A little spinning from the weekend :)  It’s romney wool from Spunky Eclectic’s fiber club.  It’s the first half of 8 ounces that is destined to be a 2-ply fingering weight yarn.  Romney wool is such a nice spin!
